These terms and conditions apply to the use of this website at www.spencerbrookesdesigns.co.uk. By accessing this website and/or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

You undertake that all details you provide for the purpose of ordering or purchasing goods are correct, that the credit or debit card or Paypal account you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds to cover the costs of the products you are purchasing.

Placing your order
Ordering from Spencer-Brookes Designs couldn't be easier. Begin by browsing through our products in the shop section and adding your desired products to the shopping basket. Once you have finished shopping, select Checkout from the Shopping Basket section, this will allow you to complete your transaction through Paypal or by card. Paypal is 100% secure for your protection. You will be asked for your billing details before being redirected to a secure site to make payment. Please note you do not need a Paypal account to make payment.

After placing your order online, we will provide you with confirmation that your order has been received but this is not confirmation that your offer to buy the items has been accepted. Our contract for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed and dispatched to you.

Please note, under new distance selling regulations, customised items are not covered by the 14 day cooling off period and by ordering, you accept this condition.

Description of products

Each product purchased is sold subject to its Product Description. We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions, measurements and prices of products appearing on the website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. However many of our products are individually handmade/cut from wood and slight variation in colour or grain of wood, or surface pattern may occur. Handmade and wooden items vary and it must be accepted by the customer that no two of a kind will ever be identical, and no surfaces will ever be the same as wood grain differs. Also, colours may vary slightly from the website due to screen display settings.
We cut many of our items on a laser which uses laser heat to burn through the wood.plastic/
etc, and therefore, those item's edges are dark brown or black.

Postage & Delivery
Orders are normally sent out within five days (excluding holidays and weekends). In busy periods, there will be a longer turn around and this will be made clear on our Facebook page. Our standard postage service is 1st Class Royal Mail, unless otherwise selected. If orders are over 2kg or exceed the sizing required by Royal Mail, we will use a courier. We also reserve the right to send a separate invoice for extra postage if your order requires it.
We are not liable for personalised items which arrive late and will not refund in this situation.

Full delivery cost will be shown in your shopping basket before checking out.
Refunds & Exchanges
In line with the Distance Selling Regulations you have a fourteen day cooling off period after receiving your order. Please note - this does not apply to personalised items which cannot be returned unless broken/faulty. The customer must contact Spencer-Brookes Designs in the first instance to arrange the return of the items. This can be done via our Contact Us page. When returning an item these conditions must be met:

    Contact us BEFORE you send the item back
    Items must be in an as new condition. With acrylic items, all films must still be in tact
    Items are your responsibility until they arrive on our premises
    Proof of postage must be obtained when the package is returned

A refund for the product price will be initiated once we have received the returned goods. The original delivery charge will not be refunded and the customer will be responsible for the delivery cost for returning the items.

Orders are checked before being dispatched and are packaged well to avoid damage during transit, however, we are only human and occasionally mistakes do happen. If your order is damaged or faulty when you receive it please notify us so we can rectify the issue. You have 14 days to do this, after which we are not responsible.

If orders are damaged in transit, we request that you send us a photo of both the item in the state it arrived and the packaging it arrived in. This enables a much faster resolution.

Mistakes and Typing Errors

All personalisation is taken directly from the invoice, generated by the website. We ask that all spelling and grammar is checked before placing the order as this is what we use to copy. Any mistakes made on the invoice, which have not been bought to our attention will have a further cost incurred to replace the item, up to the full cost of the item, including the extra postage price. This charge is at our discretion, depending on work involved to rectify your order.

In a situation where Spencer-Brookes Designs have made a spelling error, we will replace the item at no extra cost.
